Raksha Bandhan 2024 India Post recommends international Rakhi shipments by 31st July

India Post: This year, the biggest festival of brother-sister love, Raksha Bandhan, will be celebrated on 19 August. On this occasion, India Post will take the responsibility of delivering Rakhi to brothers living abroad. India Post has issued guidelines to ensure that sisters’ Rakhi reaches them on time. India Post has said that if you want to deliver Rakhi on time, then get the shipment done before 31 July so that there is no problem related to customs and Rakhi can reach your brothers easily.

Prepare Rakhi shipment by 31st July

India Post on Friday said that it extends a warm invitation to use its international mail service to send rakhis to your loved ones around the world. It also appeals to you to plan your rakhi shipment by July 31 to deliver the rakhi on time. It is necessary to follow these guidelines to deal with the problems of international mailing and reduce the chances of customs related hassles.

Use good packaging and provide clear information

The post department said that to protect your rakhis from damage during transport, pack them well. Write the address clearly and legibly and give the correct zip code and post code. Apart from this, do not forget to write your mobile number. Also, give clear information about all the things present in your packet. This will not cause any problem in custom clearance. Avoid sending any prohibited items such as flammable substances, liquids or perishable goods in the rakhi packet. They can be confiscated.

India Post issued HS codes

Consider including Harmonized System Code (HS Code) for Rakhi related items to facilitate better custom clearance and parcel delivery. However, HS codes are not mandatory for non-commercial shipments. Still, having HS codes will make it easier for them to clear customs. India Post has also issued some HS codes.
